Title: Blue Skies Tomorrow
Author: Sarah Sundin
About the book:
Lt. Raymond Novak prefers the pulpit to the cockpit, but at least his stateside job training B-17 pilots allows him the luxury of a personal life. As he courts Helen Carlisle, a young war widow and mother who conceals her pain under a frenzy of volunteer work, the sparks of their romance set a fire that flings them both into peril. After Ray leaves to fly a combat mission at the peak of the air war over Europe, Helen takes a job in a dangerous munitions yard and confronts an even graver menace in her own home. Will they find the courage to face their challenges? And can their young love survive until blue skies return?

My Thoughts:
I’ve read the first 2 books, and really enjoyed them like I did this one too. Though I do have to say out of the three this was my favorite, and I think that is because I really did like and relate to the main heroine Helen. She was left alone to raise her son, and had to learn to survive in ways she never imagined when she initially married and had a child. Ray was another character that I liked, though I do have to be honest and say I did pay more attention to Helen and her side of the story than Rays. But he is a guy who is struggling to do the right thing, like we all do. Do you bend under pressure and take the easy way out or do you fight the good fight and stay true to yourself? Those were the things that I sway Ray and Helen struggle with through out this book – something we all struggle with so it made it more realistic and something that I really could relate with. The path that both Ray and Helen take in this book is not necessarily the easiest but they do learn a lot through their struggles. I do recommend this book, and if you find this book interesting look up the first two in the series and learn about Rays brothers.
Overall Rating: 5 / 5 Stars
